Cozy Babies

We woke up this morning and it was cool. We snuggled in bed for a bit, then put their hats on them. Wouldn't have done any good to turn on the heat, because the power company shut it off to replace the pole. It is good that the swings are battery opperated.

My Smelly Girl

My stepdaughter Renae loves to smell things, I mean all things, good and bad. Years ago I used to give her and Cole stupid things, for example I would put a raw potato in Cole's backpack with "My step mom loves me" written on it. Well, today Renae was getting out her old books and reading to the babies. Pressed inside was a green tea bag that I had given her years ago. She had loved the smell so much that she put it in her book for safe keeping. Guess I know what to give her for Christmas.

Special gift from a special person

How cute!! These outfits were sent to the babies from my high school teacher, Mrs. Hough. How sweet is that?? Mrs. Hough made all the difference in my life. She is the teacher that believed in me and encouraged me to go to college. I thought, well if she believes in me that much, maybe I will give it a shot. Low and behold, because I went to college, I became a caseworker at Flora Manor were I met my handsome Jimmy Jimmy and now we have two cute punkins. Mrs. Hough taught parenting and child development classes in high school. To bad it has been 17 years since I graduated from high school and I don't remember much. I will say, the babies are still alive so I must be doing something right. Thank you Mrs. Hough for being so thoughtful---Then and Now.
Cole and Nae did a good job shucking corn for the first time!! I may see if I can find some beans for them to stap. Oh how nice to be a kid in the country.
I liked being a country kid. I have my grandpa to thank. We did everything together. I was the grandson he never had. He took me fishing, hunting, worked in the garden. I will say that hunting as a child was not that fun. I liked going with my grandpa, but when it came time to shoot, I had to stand way behind him and miss all the action. Fishing was fun, but since I was not quiet, we could have had better luck. I miss my grandpa, his birthday was this month.
Anyone else have any good country kid stories??? Let hear 'em!!!

Hitt'n' the trail Jack, please come back

Jackson and daddy went for a walk. I think Jackson may be like his dad and gets tired of being cooped up in the house.

Family Fun Night

Ok, ya know how it is better to turn off the TV and bond as a family. Well I think that is kinda dangerous for the Bingmans to do. I mentioned to the kids that as a child, had only 3 channels and was bored so I melted records into bowls. Well that thought that we could try that. I told Cole that I can get records at the Catholic Charities for 10 cents, he said "Screw American Eagle, I'm going to Catholic Charities. We had other activites but the were to uncivilized to speak of.--It may be safer for us to turn the TV back on, but we had fun. I guess when you are poor you gotta make your own fun.

Picture Perfect Day

What a beautiful morning. My handsom Jimmy Jimmy catching some big fish before he goes to football practice.
We are getting pictures taken today. My angel sent from heaven, Cole, wanted to wear a Tshirt. When I found a couple nice shirt in his closet, he said they weren't as comfortable as the Tshirt. Well I went and got my girdle (my friend Sheila calls it "foundation wear") that has 15 hooks and eyes and told him that is what wearing. Being the nice boy that he is, he agreed to wear the polo shirt.

Nice to be a baby

I think it would be so nice to be a baby. Not only do you get to eat and sleep, but you are facinated by the smallest thing. Babies don't know about taxes, work, or death. Lucky babies. However there are babies that don't have it so good. I am sure that there are people who don't care if their babies are hungry, need changed, or need held. Poor punkins, how could people be mean to little babies. I pray for those punkins (yes I pray) that their parents would get an anvil dropped on their heads, so the punkins could go to a new home.
